Miss Representation

The film "Miss Representation," talks about the stereotypical vision, that is given through the media. The statistics shown in this film talks about how girls want to be president, and you ask them when they’re older, the gap emerges because the media changes the way of thinking of our children today. From a very tender age, girls feel the need to be better than everyone else and look like their aspired role model, because it’s almost like you’re different because you’re being YOU! The film indicates that “it’s all about the body and not about the brain” because the media persuades the audience into focusing on the body of celebrities and not the brains of women. If little girls are driven by the media, then we won’t move forward and change the image of women. The media is very dangerous for the reason that it is like the brain of our people and controls the way people see women, when actually women can be big, thin, tall, short, dark and light skinned but we don’t ever see the real women of our world, we are always faced with the fake celebrities of the media. Women are limited because of misrepresentation.
